One of the best ways to gain the friendship of a Panamanian is to invite them to the Decameron, either for the night or using the day pass (which Panamanians also like). It is a nice getaway because it is only 1.5 hours from Panama City. The Decameron is also nice because it is associated with several other things Panamanians like such as fanny packs, loud music, and Coronado.
When packing for the Decameron, Panamanian women would be kidding themselves if they didn’t pack at least several sarongs made of fish netting seeing as though this is the official female uniform of Panamanians in the Decameron. Equally integral to the Decameron experience is attending the “artistic” show in the evening which is designed like Broadway.
Keep in mind that a trip to the Decameron is not a trip to the Decameron until photos have been taken in each of the pools, at each of the bars, and (for females) posing by the waves then published on Facebook under a title using punctuation instead of letters such as “Dec@mer()n” or simply misspelled with exclamation points like “Vamos a Dekameron!!!”
Baaaaaaah! Love it. I always wondered what the heck was up with people loving that place. It’s not just Panamanians though! Even lots of Canadians go there too. Maybe I should start that site? LOL
The place is one of the few massive infrastructures with accessible pricesing for Panamanian families to go to. Still I personally dislike this fucking hotel for their very irregular late checkin (you may not get your room until 5pm or even later). And their early rudely enforced check-out (a lot of times taking you out of the room even before noon). Unless you pay extra per person for an early check in and a late check out, which is something you get for free in most other hotels in Panama. Plus I have a defect that I hate to see so many Colombians in a same place, unless they are hot Colombian women ofcourse. I tend to think that these weird looking Colombians spending all that money there are a bunch of narcoguerrillas. Cause most of them there when I’ve been there, don’t look at all like Colombian businessmen or regular working families. So, I am a Panamanian that hates this Hotel.
The most interesting features about this hotel are the choice of restaurants, the sunset cruises aboard “La Garota”, a real Brazilian shooner, and last but not least the after dinner open bar with calypso bands and all…
The last reason why I really like the Decameron a lot is the enormous amount of sexy young girls flocking around the place in the mood for some fun…
Bien serio, el Decamerón es un lugar bien popular… La gente cuando van de regreso a Panamá dique “tenemos que ir pa’ el Decamerón y tomarnos fotos pa’ el facebook”xD
Decameron is overrated. Poor service and mosquito infested year round.
