Panamanians are a very compassionate people, even the poorest of whom can be seen giving money to homeless people on the street. But should they be presented with a burning building or a massive flood, it would be common for them to think, not “how can I help save the people inside,” but rather, “I wonder if there are any dogs in there.”
As far as comparisons go, wealthy Panamanian dogs are better fed and clothed than some Panamanian people. This is not to say that money determines the ability of Panamanians to like dogs, because even Panama’s ghettos are filled with dogs. In fact, the only place you will not find dogs in Panama is in the chinitos (for obvious reasons).
As is the case with other once-popular trends that they embrace (such as Crocs), Panamanians just recently caught on to the small dog trend made famous ten years ago by Paris Hilton. This habit involves purchasing a small dog (preferably a chihuaha that can fit inside a pocketbook) and dressing him/her up in “cute” outfits like a child: pig tails, sweaters, Barcelona/Real Madrid soccer uniforms…etc. Panamanians accordingly like to talk to these dogs and take vanity photos to post on Facebook under titles such as “Princess Lola is eating,” or “I love you Cooooookie!!!”
hahahah… wroooooong dude! The pocket size dogs trend landed here 6 years ago or more as a consequence of “el boom inmobiliario” and the lack of space in the tiny apartments.
Many of your posts describe what we called the “wannabe’s” and their lifestyle: flashy, tacky and two years behind the trends. Please consider this the next time.
PS: by the way… i HATE crocs
Pretty good one. But doesnt everyone like dogs? I have seen some of those little ones lately in purses and they are pretty silly. We also like ‘tinakeros’
Dogs owned by wealthy Americans eat better than you numerous homeless people, which you cannot easily find in our country. Crocs is a product, which people like and buy or don’t, but god almighty you think that everything Panamanias must follow trend in America simultaneously or its ignorant and off timing. So according to you chihuhas got here from America? The fucking dogs where around before you set foot in this ground. Faggot.
You forgot to mention that the small dogs usually have names like “Fendi” or “Coco Chanel” or any other fashion designer.
“¿Cuanto vale un perro así? Panamanians like to ask people how much their stuff costs. Although it might be considered rude in some cultures, Panamanians don’t hesitate to ask someone they hardly know the value of their watch, shoes, car, or my personal favorite, dog.” – User submitted
